SUPERS 0VER 35s
Peninsula Raiders 10.15 d Southern Saints 6.9
From the coach:
Southern Supers go down in another game that was really winnable right till the last 5 to ten minutes.
The boys played the conditions quite well but turnovers and an inability to punish the opposition on the scoreboard is becoming a bit of a theme.
Braddles had a great game at centre half back, and Nathan’s tagging role on one of the competitions most decorated players was a highlight for 3 and a half quarters.
We have 3 weeks to regroup, get some players back and save our season against OLD Scotch.

From the sidelines:
Bucks kicked two goals from what looked like a wing position.
Abe went hard all day along with John Boy
Joffa got smashed and bashed (congrats on 350 games for Glen Eira and a mention in the Herald Sun)
Jarvo played 3 quarters and got 1 vote from the umpires (fact: as Jarvo has team managers running everywhere to put in his name on the team sheet. At the same time he was playing for the Supers.
The ball was coming out of the backline frequently courtesy of John Boy and Sym.

Southern Saints win 3 on the trot under coach Mick. These boys are playing well as a team and Neil is playing inspirational footy in the centre..
Fleish, Gorgeous George and Joey are goal kicking machines at present. Tony Boemo out baulked the Raiders to kick a goal that can only be described as ‘delicious’.
Whitey, ever the opportunist, placed himself in the goal square and when he kicks a goal it is game over. After the game he was heard to explain how he baulked and shuffled to lift the team.
With Neil, Billy D and Tas finding the forward line it should have been more goals. One man and his offsider stood in the way – Ronnie Frank and Pepe – arguably the best recruits the Raiders had seen in some time. Once again proving that losers can be winners as they sang the saints song post match. As a result of being at the after match function Ronnie F won a six pack as the best player for the Saints (playing for Peninsula). Pepe played on the wing and gets better each game.
